For the first time in my life I made the connection about how I felt when others offered me unsolicited advice_ granted, they were mostly men I resented_ and how I was impacted others in the guise of being helpful. I know that you are well-intentioned. I think both of us grew up in situations were being helpful was the one thing that got us positive attention. Most of the time, at least.
