Firefighter receives invitation to graduation party after rescue that occurred 18 years ago.
"We received word that we had two occupants in an elevator at the top of the air traffic control tower that were stuck," said Deputy Chief Raymond Sikes of the 165th Airlift Wing Fire Emergency Services.
Sikes said a rescue call, that occurred eighteen years ago in 2005, involved air-traffic controllers Mary Beasley and Leanne Christman, who were trapped inside an elevator at Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport. He thought that he and his crew would only be rescuing two people but,
“Somewhere along the line we found out that one of them may be pregnant so we had three," said Sikes.

THE 2023 MILKY WAY PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE YEAR
Photographing the Milky Way is a marvelous experience.
Modern cameras can capture vibrant details and colors in the night sky beyond what our eyes can see. However, what really matters in any great image is the photographer behind the camera, who provides the idea, plan, and creativity to bring the image to life.
To help you find inspiration for your next astro images, below are the results of the sixth edition of our Milky Way Photographer of the Year competition, where we publish the best Milky Way images taken around the world.
Buckle up because this trip is going to take you from the remote deserts of Socotra, Madagascar, Atacama, and Namibia to the lost landscapes of Patagonia, Australia, and New Zealand, passing by spectacular glaciers, volcanoes, mountains, and beaches along the way…always with the Milky Way always shining in the sky.

However, our latest study has found that looking at positive news stories — specifically, videos and articles featuring acts of kindness — can actually counteract the ill-effects of seeing negative news stories.

Hong Kong’s famous rubber duck returns — and now there are two

A decade since it famously appeared in Victoria Harbour, Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman’s “Rubber Duck” sculpture has returned to Hong Kong. And this time it has a friend.
Creative studio AllRightsReserved, which often orchestrates public art displays in the city, announced Thursday that a pair of Hofman’s inflatable ducks will float in Hong Kong’s waters for two weeks later this month. The company dubbed the new installation “Double Ducks.”
