Who is Getting a Complete Hysterectomy?

Friday’s appointment confirmed my diagnosis of adenomyosis, and I felt my heart drop when he started talking about meds… but he said I was on the best med for my condition, MyFembree, and since I wasn’t getting better, our only alternative was a hysterectomy.

And given 1) I’m almost 50, and 2) he didn’t know how my ovaries would react if left in, he gave me the option to just remove them both at the time of my hysterectomy.

I said yes. To all of it.

I should hear from his surgery scheduling team this week, and then I’ll have a date. I don’t know if it’ll happen before summer, but I’m hopeful.
