What Is a Ghost?
Before we get started, let me sum up
I have seen ghosts my entire life, so the question of their existence is matter-of-fact for me. However, I’m also a science nerd, so I’ve wondered how they can exist.
Why Can I See Ghosts?
Energy cannot be created or destroyed, only transformed. (Yes, yes, I know about decay.) It is conceivable that upon certain death, specifically a death where an excess of energy is expended, said energy would leave a mark.
Since that energy no longer has a shell, it’s not always visible to the naked eye. If someone is weirdly wired like me, they can trigger these areas and ‘see’ what’s there.
Also, ‘seeing’ isn’t always an eyes-forward image. Oftentimes, it’s like something is projecting what should be in front of me inside of my head.
Still a hypothesis, of course. :)
Types of Phenomenon
It’s been my experience that there are two particular types of ghostly phenomenon: static and interactive.
STATIC
A static ghost phenomenon is experienced like a video or audio recording. When energy imprints on a location or item, it creates an invisible play button. Then someone sensitive walks through the hot spot or touches the item, that recording plays.
You can’t interact with these types of experiences anymore than you can with a video or audio medium, like videos, MP3s, etc. It just exists.
As an example, in Tennessee south of Nashville, there’s a body I see hanging in the trees. She’s there every time I’ve driven by, and no one in the car can see her but me. And even though I can see the fabric of her nightgown sway along with the swing of her arms, she doesn’t notice me. The depth of emotion tied to her death is a strong fingerprint on that part of the forest.
INTERACTIVE
Interactive phenomenon, on the other hand, can interact with you. These ghostly presences have the ability to make themselves known along a vast spectrum of actions. These stretch from the knocking or footsteps to full-blown poltergeists.
These ghosts will change their interactions with your reactions. Energy is food, and fear is dessert. Ghosts who want to be acknowledged will absorb anything to do so. They will ramp up their activity to elicit more of that energy from you and your family.
Scary? Oh, yeah. Even for someone like me.
