An exercise in poetry from Weirdo Poetry
Prepare your issues on the counter:
who, what, when and where.
Make sure you also have
patience, realism and an appropriate knife.
Slide the people who failed you out of grey matter
and release the trauma they served.
While you examine what they gave you,
cut their influence from your life
(to better fit this new chapter)
in whatever way suits your preference.
Lately, I’ve preferred using my absence,
450 days, cold, 6 minutes to overthink.
As the effects fade, slice away
the reminders thick in your headspace.
When the process is done,
put it on paper for burning.
Once the ashes are cold,
apply peace, add grace and love,
and voila, you have a BTM.
Better Tomorrow for Me.
Rinse and repeat, as needed.

Fantastic! I especially love this stanza:
When the process is done,
put it on paper for burning.
Once the ashes are cold,
apply peace, add grace and love,
and voila, you have a BTM.
