Brain gremlins lie, right?

Shards of intrusion beget
Rampant little thoughts
Sprouts full of audacity
Misery's whispered lies
O'er wrinkled gray matter

Sleep, a promised succor
There lay lies in between
Jagged bits of emotional trauma
Biting deep into the scarred field
Dropping my stomach and knees

Blood drawn curves encircle me
Surface tacky, browning with time
This sinister slide into what was
Cleaves the carefully cultivated balance
Into thin, spidery slivers of intrusion

And the cycle begins anew

Two weeks without ADHD meds, my brain replaces the need for sleep with the hum of Frollo telling Quasimodo how grateful he should be for the gaslighting and abuse.

I have therapy tomorrow. And meds.
