Morning.
If you are anything like the vast number of us, then this election cycle has been a never-ending dumpster fire. And it’s exhausting. I’m exhausted. I am ready for tomorrow to be done.
Granted, I don’t believe that it’s just going to be over when she win (look at me manifesting), but at least that part will be over, right?
Did I mention I’m exhausted?
Today, I want to remind you to breathe.
One, blue is my color (though I’m blonde right now).
Two, this mess will still be there when you regain consciousness.
Three, life will go on. Good, bad, indifferent. It goes on, and it is taking us with it, so we need to make the most of it.
So take a slow breath in before letting it out again. In, then out. Rinse and repeat at least ten times.
Is it going to fix anything? Not necessarily in the big picture, but it will help you. Even if it’s just for a moment.
After all, remember you can only control yourself. You aren’t supposed to be responsible for all the other adults in the world. (And some people are beyond help, if we’re honest.)
No matter what happens tomorrow, remember that we have each other. Community, as I say every election cycle, is how we survive.
Thanks for reading.
Thanks, Connie. I've been avoiding social media and news. The outcome is out of my control beyond the things I did as a voter. I'm a JP, so I will be working the election in our small town and doing what I can to help people who can't get to the polls. We already have 47% voter participation through early voting after last night. No matter the side, people are invested., which is encouraging on the one hand and terrifying when one doesn't know affiliations. As for exhaustion, I feel you. (((((hugs))))))
